Arguably the most efficient way to get in shape is by doing fitness gym workouts that exercise the entire body. It seems that more and more people are going away from the big and bulky. And unless you have a purpose for having that kind of build, such as bodybuilding or playing a sport, then there probably isn’t a good reason to look like a Ninja Turtle. The lean, toned body is currently the trend. The following are workout tips to help you reach your fitness goals.

One of the keys is to stretch the major muscles, such as the hip, hamstrings, glutes, and quadriceps, before and after every workout. Think of your muscles as rubber bands that must be stretched before using. A important point is to do slow, gentle bounces to get the muscles warmed up properly. Start with your legs and then stretch the upper body. When doing a toe touch, count to 5 as you reach your toes, hold the position for 10 seconds, then take another 5 seconds as you go back to the position you were originally in. A stretch should be held for at least 15-20 seconds for each muscle group.

It’s important to stretch after your workout so your muscles don’t get big and bulky, and instead get the toned look.

When it comes to fitness gym workouts, simplicity is the name of the game. Take your time and do the exercises right. Lift weight that gives you a good workout, but doesn’t force you to compromise technique. Also, don’t feel that every muscle group has to be exercised in a day. In order to achieve a lean look, one must focus on lifting lighter weight at 20 or more repetitions. Getting into a routine and sticking with it is what will give you results and change the shape of your body.

A lot of people who do fitness gym workouts feel the need to show off and impress those around them. However, the key is to strictly focus on your workout and not worry about what anyone else is doing. As mentioned, the key is to doing around 20 repetitions or more. The amount of weight should be enough to challenge you as you get near 20 repetitions, while still maintaining proper technique. Enjoy exercising, but at the same time you should concentrate on what your doing. By exercising consistently, you will become disciplined and have a nice, toned body that you will love.
